Closing day — the finish line of your home-buying journey! You’ve found your dream home, survived inspections and appraisals, and now it’s time to make it official.
Before closing, your lender will send a Closing Disclosure, outlining every cost — loan amount, interest rate, taxes, and fees. Review it carefully to avoid surprises. Bring a certified check or arrange a wire transfer for your closing costs and down payment.
The actual signing happens at a title company or attorney’s office. You’ll review and sign the deed, loan documents, and various disclosures. Once everything is notarized, funds are transferred, and the deed is recorded — the keys are yours!
Pro tip: schedule your final walk-through the day before closing to ensure agreed-upon repairs were completed and the home’s condition hasn’t changed.
After signing, celebrate — you just became a Cincinnati homeowner! Don’t forget to update your address, transfer utilities, and grab a photo with your keys (perfect for social media ).
